So the fringe is fast approaching and time is running out to snap up some of the best tickets in town! Here is a list of a few acts we really think you should see this year.
Company: Function Theatre
"The country's in turmoil, the spring is sprung, there's about to be a coup, a woman has been found murdered, her unborn child stolen from her womb. Things can't get any worse - wait until Peter Pan turns up. James Baldwin (Lilian Baylis Award / IdeasTap winner) and Elgiva Field - Purge, Arcola, March 2012, **** 'gripping ... gets right under your skin' (Daily Telegraph) - bring you a deliciously frightening, dangerously familiar, dystopian world of tomorrow. Revel as we expose the devilish side of JM Barrie's eternal child and recoil in fascination as we ask, are child monsters essential for sociological function?"

Irreconcilable Differences
Company: Refractive Lens Theatre
"Twenty years is a long time to be together. One hour can be significantly longer. After a seemingly endless marriage of fighting, cheating, lies, threats and walk-outs (and some good, no doubt), Polly and Benjamin find themselves floating face-up in a river. Their car is wrecked, their bodies are broken and the odds are even that one of them will die. Only Polly and Ben aren’t there – Polly and Ben are here. On this stage, in front of these people, and they have one hour to convince an audience which of these broken bodies should survive."

The Yarn
Company: MATE Drama Workshop
"Belly laughs, tender poignancy
and bitter heartbreak. Step beyond the golden haystacks into a 1800s rural
village fighting for survival and be woven into a ragged patchwork of joyous
tales, painful rituals and bizarre superstitions. With the coming of the
industrial age the villagers descend into poverty and the tales they tell
become increasingly comic and fantastical. MATE Drama Workshop returns to the
Fringe with this highly entertaining and evocative production that once again
challenges the boundaries of traditional community theatre. Dark comedy,
physical
storytelling - Lark Rise meets Berkoff. Unmissable"

One Night Stand
Company: West Avenue Theatre
"The morning after the night
before, two colleagues deal with the repercussions of an alcohol-fuelled night
of passion. Whilst Alice is over the moon and convinced it marks the start of
something special, Brian is mortified and can't remember a thing. As it becomes
apparent that he is already in a relationship, the pair go head to head in a
fast-paced, farcical battle: he wants her out, and she wants the truth. A quick-witted
comedy about love, lust, commitment, crossed wires and a glittery men's thong"
One Night Stand is on at The Space on the Mile Venue 39 at 14:05. It is on from the 13-18th August and lasts for 45 minutes. It is a 14+ with strong language.
